MMD Medical, A Velosity Company is searching for a Production Supervisor to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The Precision Machining Supervisor provides front line leadership and improvement ownership for the Swiss machining department. Additionally, this position is responsible for assigning and monitoring work and implementing productivity standards. This position is also responsible for providing quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards. Accomplishing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

The typical pay range for this role: $67,219 - $100,828.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors.

This position includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Essential Duties:

  • Implement Lean principles and drive continuous improvement in area of responsibility.
  • Identify projects and lead improvement teams by defining improvement targets and drive teams to execute these goals.
  • Manage and provide direction to the Swiss machining department
  • Safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues which include unplanned and preventative maintenance.
  • Complete Labor edit and payroll activity including enforcing attendance expectations for staff
  • Works directly with planning to define and execute a production dispatch which includes issuing of jobs and material to the floor. Monitor productions rates through hour by hour and job completion act
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Machine Trades or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • 2 to 6 years of experience Swiss Machining
  • Leadership, decision making, and management skills
  • Able to get things done, make things happen to achieve objectives of production and business needs
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, to include Excel, Word and programming software

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Standing, Walking, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, Pulling, Twisting, Turning, Seeing, Hearing
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting, and climate control. This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors, exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, oil and waste.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
