The Area Maintenance Manager (AMM) is a second-level managerial position that functions as the single point of contact for all maintenance and reliability needs within an operating division's asset base. An effective AMM has two primary responsibilities: (1) Allocating resources to support the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of the asset base for a designated manufacturing division and (2) Developing the skills and capabilities of the personnel assigned to support that designated manufacturing division. To accomplish these dual objectives, the AMM must be skilled at developing, prioritizing and executing tactical plans to support the needs of both the maintenance team and the manufacturing division. The AMM must also be skilled at making choices and implementing plans that support the strategic needs of the workforce and which drive long-term productivity improvements without compromising safe and reliable operations. The AMM must develop effective networks with partners across both the aligned operating division and CM&S Division to understand and prioritize tactical and strategic needs. These key partners include, but are not limited to: Operations Maintenance Managers, Crew Department and Division Safety Coordinators, Planning and Scheduling Team Managers, Reliability & Maintenance Engineers, Turnaround Coordinators, Centralized Eastman Maintenance crews and Contract Maintenance & Construction crews.Personnel reporting to the AMM directly and indirectly typically include a team of maintenance team managers, engineers, technicians and other skilled craftworkers and support staff. The AMM, Heavy Equipment Services leads teams that provide functional & maintenance shops services in the following areas: Cranes, Boom Truck, Earthmoving, Underground, Automotive, Stacker Shop and Hydroblasting.
