Overview
SCCI is seeking a Systems Engineerto support a Weapon System Program. The Systems Engineer will provide direct support to rapid acquisition and tactical prototyping projects. The Systems Engineer will work as an integral part of the engineering design teams, as well as with end-users, management, and sponsors throughout the design, integration and iterative test of prototypes and tactical systems. This position is located at our office inDahlgren, VA. Responsibilities:
- Perform requirements derivation, allocation, and management for a weapon control system and external interfaces
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, end users, testers, analysts and system instructors, to ensure user requirements are captured and addressed through iterative system design
- Develop systems engineering, hardware development, and maintenance documents such as SOPs, QA checklists, requirements specifications, architectural diagrams, test plans, and general guideline documentation in support of hardware development
- Provide input and subject matter expertise to engineering, to include design and review boards, working groups, and integrated product teams
- Coordinate proposed system changes with internal and external organizations
- Evaluate system and subsystem requirements and design changes for impacts and provide project leadership with recommendations for project planning and execution
- Perform programmatic and system analysis in support of system/hardware documentation, verification, and validation
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizenand be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience performing requirements analysis, concept development, system design, and integration
- Experience analyzing requirements and documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents
- Attention to detail in project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammar
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with relevant DOD Systems Engineering and design instructions and standards
- Ability to create requirements specifications in technical and user-friendly language
- Demonstrated experience working with engineers, HW/ SW developers, and management to gather necessary documentation, requirements, security, and safety information
- Experience with DOD engineering programs
- Active DoD Security Clearance
