Materials Manager

NHBB is looking for a motivated, experienced and skilled individualto join our team as our Materials Manager.

Working with the Senior Management Team, the Materials Manager is responsible for directing and managing material planning, purchasing, production planning and scheduling, and inventory management. This role drives the performance and professional development of the purchasing and inventory management team, as well as develops effective working relationships with suppliers, and stakeholders within the supply chain. The Materials Manager will develop processes and metrics to ensure all resources are aligned and allocated effectively to optimize product throughput, minimizing the cost within the entire value stream.

In your daily role as Materials Manager you will:



  • Develop processes, systems, and key performance targets to drive operational efficiency an d trigger corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide reports on internal and customer facing SIOP planning, production loading, backlog, and lead-time management. Other periodic materials reporting for leadership, the as required.
  • Direct and maintain accountability for all aspects of materials management.
  • Oversee staff to ensure company is meeting goals and efficiencies.
  • Plan and direct efficient day-to-day activities to meet customers' expectations including facilitating daily production/materials execution meetings, and maximizing production while minimizing unnecessary costs.
  • Support activities and collaboration with internal/external partners to achieve sales plans/growth.
  • Mentor and train staff for maximum performance and business continuity.


What we are looking for from you as the Materials Manager :



  • Minimum of seven (7) years of proven work experience as a Materials Manager, with a least three (3+) years in a management role
  • Strong skillset in sparking innovation and enthusiasm in others.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with an extremely strong interpersonal communication skillset and the ability to work with others at all levels of the company, and externally.
  • General project management and change management skills - with the ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (excel, word and power point), with great computer literacy.
  • Strong presentation skills and good at public speaking.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities; problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Ability to exercise autonomy, independent judgment and decision making.
  • Ability keep sensitive information confidential.


Your education and skills will include:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or related field. Master's degree and APICS certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (i.e. budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation).
  • Familiarity with and understanding of aerospace bearing materials, turning, grinding, inspection and testing methodologies is a plus.


In this role you may have to travel approximately 10% of the time both domestically and internationally. You will also possess a willingness to come in early/stay late without direction to complete time sensitive tasks.
Physical job requirements include: sitting, standing, computer work, talking on the phone, travel, walking and ability to lift 40 pounds.
This is an onsite position, in-person position.
