Role and Responsibilities:


We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Custodian/Floor Technician to join our crew. As a key member of our team, you'll help ensure our environment stays spotless and safe for everyone.



  • Work with a team that includes adults with disabilities, creating a positive, supportive environment.

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and help maintain clean floors and restrooms.

  • Keep trash and recycling bins emptied and the space neat.

  • Clean, wax, and restore hard-surface floors and carpets using floor care equipment.

  • Use and maintain floor care machinery like buffers and scrubbers; perform basic repairs and replace parts when needed.

  • Set up safety barriers and report defective equipment.

  • Assist with inventory checks and help manage supplies and equipment.

  • Greet customers and ensure the area is clean and safe for everyone.

  • Lift and move heavy equipment, read and follow chemical labels, and complete other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Previous experience in floor care and janitorial services.

  • Familiarity with the use of floor waxing, stripping, and buffing techniques.

  • Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques and equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums.

  • Ability to operate floor care equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Understanding of safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a consistent cleaning routine.


Preferred Skills:



  • Certification or specialized training in floor care or janitorial services.

  • Experience with a variety of floor types (e.g., carpet, tile, vinyl, hardwood) and appropriate cleaning methods for each.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA guidelines regarding cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Ability to identify and address maintenance issues related to floors (e.g., stains, damage).

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality results.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.


Physical& Environmental Demands:



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods while performing floor care tasks.

  • Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment (e.g., floor buffers, vacuums) and materials (e.g., cleaning solutions, floor mats), typically up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and repetitive motions when using cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers or buffers.

  • Ability to operate floor care machines and handle cleaning chemicals with precision and control.

  • Ability to work for extended periods, often on feet, while maintaining focus and energy.

  • Exposure to noise from floor care machines, such as buffers and vacuums.

  • Ability to work in different settings such as offices, warehouses, or healthcare facilities, with varying temperatures and lighting.

  • Ability to climb ladders or step stools to clean high areas and reach difficult spots on floors or walls.
