ISO New England is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England's ongoing transition to clean energy.

Join a team of IT professionals in the development, maintenance and support of critical ISO New England Market and Enterprise applications. This position will work on a wide variety of applications and technologies in a focused and dynamic team environment.

How you will make an impact:



  • Day to day development and support of internal and external web based and vendor applications on Linux servers written using Java, Groovy, Python, Java script, PL/SQL, JDBC.
  • Troubleshoot issues by identifying root cause and develop a plan for problem resolution.
  • Utilize the software development life cycle and manage production business processes to resolve software problems and improvements by writing user change requests and functional specifications.
  • Design, program, implement code, test, install and configure applications.
  • Work in a team environment to support user and other technical staff.
  • Learn ISO-NE business processes and adhere to ISO-NE software and change management and IT standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotation



What you need to be successful in this role:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant area, and 1+ years of relevant experience required. 5+ years of relevant experience required to be considered for a Senior level, and 10+ years of relevant experience required to be considered for a Principal level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding of relational databases preferably Oracle and Postgres
  • Experience in application software development, software engineering, configuration management, and programming in a distributed environment
  • Technical experience working with web-based applications support and development on Linux using Java, Groovy, Python, SpringBoot, Java script, PL/SQL, JDBC
  • Experience with AWS, Terraform and Cloud Native technologies
  • Experience working with Unix systems and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with vendor products such as InfoR, Lawson etc
  • Familiarity with GIT, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipeline concepts and tools
  • Demonstrated competency in system analysis and issue investigation and resolutions is required
  • Desired But Not Required


    • Experience working in an applications support environment
    • Experience in customizing and building InfoR applications
