Description

Mirion Technologies' Radiation Monitoring Systems Division (RMSD) is seeking the services of an experienced "hands on" candidate to fulfill a position of Procurement, Shipping & Receiving agent. Duties may generally be described as Procurement, Shipping & Receiving agent for the RMSD in the Atlanta office. This position is involved in various aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, administration & technical aspects of material receiving/inspection. In addition, this position is responsible for preparing and administering outgoing shipments to customers, other Mirion sites, suppliers, etc.

This is a multi-disciplinary position which consists of the following primary responsibilities:



  • Purchasing agent
  • Shipping & receiving
  • Technical receipt inspection



ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Procurement Activities:



  • Coordinating all activities associated with procurement of materials and supplies.
  • Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Manage the execution of procurement for production files, issuing & tracking purchase orders for timely arrival and monitor the flow & receipt of materials.
  • Validate by receiving order acknowledgement that every issued PO has been received by the supplier and that the delivery time is maintained.
  • Maintain all the records for procurement activities and provide precise and correct reports to management as often as needed. Maintain accurate and organized files for open, closed, and partially completed orders, and enter all orders into the electronic document management system.
  • Monitor vendor performance, including on-time deliveries, pricing, etc. and provide reports and recommendations to management.
  • From time to time, visit vendors to perform source-inspection or source-verification activities, under the direction of the QA department. Visits are typically within the metro Atlanta area.


Incoming material receipt:



  • Receiving and unpacking/uncrating packages or containers.
  • Verifying that shipment is undamaged and conforms to shipping documents.
  • Placing items in hold or proper stock locations; entering all items and locations accurately into inventory; delivering items to appropriate Mirion staff to initiate required actions; or notifying the supervisor when specific instructions are needed.
  • Maintaining and forwarding shipping/receiving/inventory records and documentation in an accurate, timely, and legible manner.
  • Processing the receipt of all incoming items, including entering data correctly into the ERP system.
  • Notifying appropriate staff immediately upon receipt of any radioactive shipment.


Technical receiving inspection:



  • Executing receiving inspection test procedures using common test tools such as multimeter, calipers, etc.
  • For complex receiving inspections, work with product & project support engineer to execute the receiving test procedures.
  • Document receipt inspection results on the receiving inspection & test report form and enter it into the electronic document management system.


Ship orders to customers in a timely and accurate manner:



  • Verifying required quantities and needed ship dates.
  • Allocating required items from/to inventory and ensuring that all required documentation is present. In addition, shipment must conform to the purchase order requirements.
  • Appropriately packaging/protecting items and labeling containers.
  • Ensure timely pick-ups by carrier.
  • Completing shipping documentation on all shipments and forward documentation for invoicing and inventory adjustment in a timely manner.



REQUIREMENTS




    • Associate degree in technology, science, or business administration preferred.
    • Three years' experience in a design, production & assembly/manufacturing environment. More or less experience will be considered in the context of education and nature of work experience.
    • Experienced in utilizing ERP/MRP systems. SAP preferred.
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
    • Excellent English communications skills (written & verbal).
    • Self-starter, highly motivated team player, able to follow directions & policies, able to operate & excel with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to present balanced arguments during negotiations/discussions with suppliers.
    • Able to avert/mitigate disputes with suppliers and propose positive solutions.
    • Must be detailed oriented; accuracy is a critical element of the position.
    • Familiarity with common test and inspection tools such as digital multi-meters, calipers, scales, etc.
    • Willingness to work to get the job done. Extended hours are sometimes required.
    • US citizen or permanent resident.
