At American Commercial Barge Line, we're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Fleet Services Representative to manage barge cleaning and repair operations at our Vacherie, LA location. In this role, you'll oversee daily maintenance activities, assign tasks to labor crews, help shape work schedules for contracted staff, and inspect completed projects to ensure they meet our top-tier quality standards. Your leadership and attention to detail will keep operations running smoothly and ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT



  • Coordinates and oversees day to day barge cleaning and repair operations.
  • Conducts morning job briefings, and safety meeting with Team Members and contractors.
  • Coordinate outside contractors, cleaning, and repair team.
  • Perform environmental facility walk through (daily, weekly, and monthly) and file necessary reports in compliance with DEQ standards.
  • Serves as safety leader for worksite and coaches Team Members on best practices.
  • Communicate information regarding barge availability related to cleaning and repair.
  • Conduct spot audits to ensure quality of work and conformance with company and Federal requirements.
  • Oversees and directs Team Members providing maintenance, safety, and upkeep of facility.
  • Order materials, supplies, and tools to ensure a continual workflow process with minimal interruptions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What we are looking for...

You will need to have:



  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3+ Years of Barge or Shipyard repair experience is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid TWIC.
  • Knowledge of barging operations and river systems is required.
  • Knowledge of USCG, OSHA, SDS regulations is required.
  • Willingness to work additional hours/weekends to meet deadlines.


Even better if you have:



  • Experience leading Team Members is desired.
  • Crane Operator certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office software products is preferred.
