What We're Looking For We are seeking a Senior Manager of Enterprise Architecture to lead a small team of architects responsible for defining and evolving Datavant's enterprise architecture across applications and data. This individual will collaborate closely with others on the centralized architecture team, as well as highly skilled senior engineers who oversee architectural responsibilities for their zone . The Senior Manager will play a critical role in aligning decentralized teams around shared architectural principles-enabling consistency, scalability, and long-term architectural progress across the organization What You Will Do
- Lead and mentor a small centralized team of architects, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide architectural principles and scalable design patterns.
- Collaborate with senior engineers who take on architectural responsibilities to establish and evolve architectural frameworks and best practices.
- Define and evolve standards for application and data architecture that support scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Drive alignment across engineering teams by facilitating cross-team collaboration around shared architectural principles and long-term priorities.
- Lead cross-cutting initiatives such as architecture governance, change management processes, and integration of new technologies post-M&A.
- Partner with engineering leadership to ensure the architectural roadmap aligns with business objectives and product development.
- Foster a culture of incremental improvement, guiding teams toward long-term architectural goals while supporting current delivery needs.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve Datavant's architectural landscape.
What You Need to Succeed
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, application architecture, and data architecture.
- Experience working in large, complex engineering organizations.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including mentoring and coaching architects.
- Strong influencing and communication skills, with a proven ability to drive alignment across multiple teams and influence without authority in complex, matrixed environments.
- Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments with a mix of centralized and embedded architecture models.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and data governance.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving, ensuring effective implementation of architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to lead incremental change, balancing long-term architectural vision with near-term delivery pressures.
- Passion for building a respected, collaborative, and enabling architecture function.
What Helps You Stand Out
- Experience in healthcare technology or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with microservices architectures, event-driven systems, and modern data platforms.
- Familiarity with post-merger technology integration.
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices, enabling automation and efficiency.
