Director of School of Music

Tenure Track Full/Associate Professor.

Lipscomb University's College of Entertainment and the Arts is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Director of School of Music. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of music teaching and performance within a vibrant academic community.

The Director will provide strategic leadership and direction for the School of Music including the management of academic programs, curriculum development and accreditation. The candidate will also oversee all aspects of the School of Music's operations including internal and external events, admissions and recruitment, and course scheduling as well as all aspects of faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation. Other duties will include the management of the School of Music budget and all expenditures as well as the intentional fostering of relationships with alumni and donors.

The School of Music at Lipscomb University is housed within the College of Entertainment and the Arts, a division that also comprises the School of Art and Design with the Departments of Visual Art and Fashion as well as the School of Theatre and Cinematic Arts with the Theatre, Film, Animation Departments. We also have an interdisciplinary graduate MFA program. The school of music has a long history of preparing professional music educators, scholars, composers, and performers. We foster a comprehensive music curriculum served by a group of dedicated and passionate artist-teachers. With over 170 majors, The School of Music offers BM, BA, and BS degrees in performance, music education, commercial music (singer/songwriter and production tracks), worship arts, and music industry studies.

Terminal degree preferred. (Ph.D. or DMA). Experience in teaching on the collegiate level is required. Active performance experience or research agendas on the regional and national level is expected and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
