Extended Education Ventures (EEV) (https://extendedcampus.utexas.edu/) is a self-supporting unit within The University of Texas at Austin that enables the development, delivery, and promotion of continuing and professional education across the university.

Purpose

Design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure and services, as well as operational processes that use this infrastructure to enable course registration and delivery for Extended Education Ventures (EEV) in support of continuing and professional education programs at UT Austin.

Responsibilities
  • Guide the lifecycle of the unit's lead nurture technology infrastructure, registration and payment systems, data reporting and visualization solution, and student information platform. Drive decisions on requirements and priorities. Provide customer-centric feedback on the build of the system. Consult with appropriate EEV stakeholders to ensure proper functionality is delivered. Own the feature set.

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for EEV's technology stack and the IT team.Supervise team manager, guiding the team in setting priorities, project and portfolio planning, evaluating tools, and communicating with stakeholders. Contribute to university-wide IT strategies and solutions in support of business objectives.

  • Participate as an integral member of the EEV leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and implementation, and collaborating with other directors to achieve unit and organization goals. Demonstrate professional judgment and sound decision-making, as appropriate, applying all required knowledge and experience for the best outcomes. Perform other related functions and projects as assigned.

  • Support EEV's mission to enable the development and delivery of continuing and professional education programs across the university by providing guidance and services to facilitate program delivery. Provide IT services to other UT Austin business units as appropriate. Lead or oversee technology-related efforts and shared resources for Extended Campus at the University of Texas at Austin.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, data science, or business administration field
  • Five to seven years of progressive growth in information technology systems administration and IT management
  • Demonstrated IT project management experience
  • Experience managing customer relationship management systems (CRM)
  • Demonstrated ability in creating robust service processes and use of technology tools to enable greater efficiency and scale of operations
  • Experience with department-level budget management
  • Familiarity with best practices for data and IT system security
  • Experience with software and IT hardware procurement processes
  • Ability to set priorities for self and team and work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Work well as a team player with other strong, dynamic individuals

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in a computer science, data science, or business administration field
  • Experience with Saleforce system deployment and maintenance
  • Data analytics experience including use of professional data visualization tools
  • Experience with IT management in a higher education setting
Salary Range

$125,000+ depending on qualifications

  • Work performed in a typical office environment.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
