Position Overview:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible
for all accounts payable functions, including managing and processing invoices,
ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining financial records in
compliance with company policies. The specialist will also assist in
implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency of high-volume
accounts payable operations, while collaborating with internal and external vendors
to ensure smooth financial operations with relevance to the AP process.

Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing & Payment Management

  • Handle high-volume invoice processing with accuracy and efficiency.
    Manage timely payments in compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee weekly payment distribution via checks and EFT to ensure reliable financial transactions.

Compliance & Reconciliation

  • Verify proper coding and approval of invoices according to company procedures.
  • Review unmatched reports and confirm receipt of goods.
  • Collaborate with buyers and receiving teams to quickly resolve discrepancies.

Vendor & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between the company, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Address inquiries, provide updates, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Facilitate smooth financial operations to support business needs.

Financial Reporting & Monitoring

  • Track uncashed payments and manage stale check resolution.
  • Proactively reach out to vendors to ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Process Improvement & Support

  • Assist in optimizing accounts payable processes and system improvements.
  • Provide support to the Assistant Controller on ad-hoc projects.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive operational success.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must reside within commutable distance to the Gatesville, TX office.
  • High School Diploma and college courses in accounting preferred
  • Minimum
    of 1-2 years of accounts payable or adjacent accounting or bookkeeping
    experience
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • High degree of
    accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong
    analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to
    handle high volume inquires
  • Excellent organization
    and time management abilities
  • Excellent
    communication skills for effective interaction with vendors, suppliers,
    internal teams, and customers

Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000, eligible for 7% annual bonus
