Department Overview

Applied Technology Services (ATS) is a multidisciplinary team of 100 engineers, scientists, and technicians. ATS has been providing technology based innovative, high-value services to the company for 35 years. The Chemistry ServicesUnit provides a range of laboratory testing services in support of Power Generation (Hydro, Fossil, and Nuclear), Electrical Transmission and Distribution, and Gas Transmission and Distribution activities.

Position Summary

This position is represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) subject to collective bargaining.

This is the entry-level position for engineering technical work. Work performed at this level will be assigned as required to prepare the employee for advancement to Engineering Technician II.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the timeofthe job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to anindividualwill be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses orcertifications,experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internalequity.

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the hourly rate range for this position is $43.58 to $56.94,subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Under direction or supervision of an employee in a higher classification, performs laboratory and field assignments including dielectric testing, maintenance and repairs, calibration, and investigation on a wide variety of material and equipment.
  • Catalogs and maintains instruments.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • AA degree in electronics, mechanical or similar discipline; or its equivalent in education and one year of experience in performing calibration

Desired:

  • Experience with Digital/Analog measurement and test equipment.
  • Applied experience with fundamentals of AC and DC electronics
