Job Summary:

The Volunteer Coordinator position coordinates and supports the operational oversight of the Hospital Volunteer Services program. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public, and our co-workers. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governing the privacy of patients' protected health information.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates volunteer recruitment, training, ongoing education, and support meetings.
  • Schedules and tracks volunteers to meet organizational needs.
  • Ensures volunteer documentation is timely, appropriate, and accurate.
  • Records and maintains statistical information to demonstrate effectiveness of service.
  • Performs clerical and administrative support duties as assigned in a prompt, effective, and confidential manner to ensure department efficiency.
  • Interacts courteously and effectively with volunteers and all departmental customers to provide assistance, answer questions, and facilitate effective operations.
  • Coordinates the annual volunteer recognition event and any other events that support volunteers.
  • Performs special projects to meet identified project goals and objectives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

* High School diploma or equivalent required.

* Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency with the Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office required.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Preferred:

* Bachelor's degree in business or related field, preferred.

* 1 year of prior experience in volunteer services or related administrative work, preferred.

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of individuals.

* Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a multi-project environment.
