POSITION SUMMARY:
To assist the professional staff by participating in direct and indirect patient care and performing assigned scrub technical patient support care under the supervision of a professional registered nurse in accordance with approved policies and procedures. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of the clinical technical course including on unit" orientation to practical experience. Completion of a formal accredited Surgical Technology Program or military training preferred with Certific EXPERIENCE: Experience: No previous experience required. SPECIAL SKILLS: Special Skills:Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification and recertification required. Must be able to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods, handle frequent interruptions, and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team, staff, and co-workers. Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests. Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) and assist in meeting the patient care needs of newborns and adults.
