Daikin Applied is seeking a Leave of Absence (LOA) Admin II! In this hands-on support position, you will handle the full life cycle of the Leave of Absence (LOA) claims to ensure compliance with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and all other related laws. The individual will collaborate with their manager to define objectives, assignments, priorities, and deadlines, and receive assistance as needed. The individual will typically work independently with intermittent supervision and take initiative in carrying out recurring assignments and managing leave claims. The LOA Administrator II will function as the liaison between a third-party vendor and employees to effectively administer LOA claims and advise employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters. Location: Hybrid - Plymouth, MN

What you will do:



  • Provide routine support for all Absence Management programs including FMLA, Short and Long Term Disability, ADA, State Mandated Leaves, Parental Leaves, and Workers' Compensation
  • Monitor LOA policies and procedures, coordinating across multiple types of leave and medical benefit plans and programs for effective application and compliance with company leave pay programs and address any discrepancies
  • Act as the primary point of contact for leave of absence issues and related processes, communicating directly with and supporting employees and leaders throughout the leave process
  • Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to employees and leaders regarding leave of absence policies, procedures, and entitlement, ensuring timely and accurate response to inquires
  • Facilitate and drive meetings with employees and internal or external stakeholders for issue resolution and follow-up
  • Manage benefits and billing process when employees are on an unpaid leave of absence, coordinate with benefits administrator on the benefit impacts of leaves and educate employees on the impacts
  • Partner closely with HR Representatives on all related LOA cases and claims
  • Act as liaison between third-party administrator for Leave of Absence and internal partners
  • Coordinate return to work with employees and leaders, including determination of and administration of reasonable accommodations where applicable
  • Receive and review accommodation requests through the interactive ADA process and determine
    eligibility and communicate accommodation needs
  • Determine and enter payroll into HRIS and partner with payroll processors to audit and ensure accuracy of payroll for employees on leave
  • Maintain knowledge of all state and federal regulations and laws and ensure all information remains confidential

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 - 4 years of Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Leave of Absence (LOA) claim administration, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in managing leave of absence claims
  • Strong computer skills and expertise with Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills (ex: pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state, federal, and provincial leave programs and laws, including FMLA, state-run paid family and medical leave programs, and ADA
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits as it relates to leave of absence

  • Working knowledge and experience in administering benefits/leaves in Workday
  • Working knowledge and experience managing leave of absence claims in a union environment
  • Working knowledge of Canadian leave of absences and statutory provincial laws and practices

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $28.61 to $43.51 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
