Orange & Rockland is leading the clean energy transition in New York and New Jersey. We are investing millions of dollars annually to provide customers with the tools to better manage their energy use, scale the adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies while targeting customers in disadvantaged communities, and minimizing infrastructure investment with clean energy solutions whenever possible. The Clean Energy Product Owner, Energy Efficiency will work on the digital products and software platforms within Customer Energy Services to enable the Clean Energy Future through building valuable and easy to use digital tools to support our clean energy business programs. The Clean Energy Product owner will help ensure that customers and trade allies have the digital tools necessary to engage in the Company's portfolio of clean energy programs. This role will be accountable for product and feature development and prioritization for an agile team. Additionally. this role will lead product roadmap creation, multiple software platform integrations, program initiatives, and have opportunities to shape and lead process improvements and management opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- This role will demonstrate your ability to drive results, demonstrate application of cross-disciplinary skills to the clean energy space and gain firsthand experience with the clean energy transition.
- Collaborate with a team of experienced DSM professionals that will further the Companys clean energy transition, support Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA) legislation, and implement programs that are designed to achieve the Companys clean energy goals and comply with all regulatory mandates.
- Support all software and digital product enhancements and maintenance to facilitate customer, trade ally, and stakeholder engagement with the portfolio of clean energy programs and develop all regulatory reporting.
- Develop product roadmaps including the backlog prioritization, project plans, resource utilization schedules and track budgets to ensure that product timelines are met while not exceeding budgets.
- Facilitate user requirement workshops with the CES Program Team and translate business those needs to technical language for product developers.
- Develop solutions with the CES team keeping in mind both current and future programs, projects and initiatives, while identifying process improvements using analytics.
- Plan, execute, monitor, track, manage risks and issues and report on project timelines and progress using traditional and Agile development, processes and techniques.
- Develop user stories, personas, and acceptance criteria driven by business value that are clear, concise, and easy to understand to support a customer-centric and service-oriented culture to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop plans associated with system upgrades and business processes, including supervising development of detailed test plans and use cases, execute testing, document findings, and work with CES Team and technical staff to resolve identified issues and seek approvals.
- Identify and monitor key performance metrics that drive engagement and result in achieving NY and NJ clean energy goals and initiate program improvements across governance and intake processes in coordination with the Section Manager.
- Manage and supervise team member(s), providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure successful project execution and professional development.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience or
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Relevant Work Experience
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with stakeholders to build consensus, required.
- Strong communications, presentation, writing, and analytical skills, required.
- Experience with creating requirements and tracking projects in Azure Dev or similar, required.
- Experience managing budgets and forecasts, required.
- Ability to facilitate meetings to decompose business processes and understand required changes to leverage benefits of analytics, required.
- Experience developing resource plans for large project and the roles required for delivery.
- Experience in producing formal presentations and documentation for executive and regulatory communication.
- Experience with SAFe Agile program management and/or transformation.
- Experience with energy efficiency, demand-side management, demand response, and/or other clean energy program from a utility or participating vendor perspective
- Familiar with New York State's Reforming the Energy Vision and O&Rs rate case in the areas of Distribution System Implementation Plans, NWAs, Earnings Adjustment Mechanisms, and other relevant energy efficiency and distributed energy resources.
- Strong skills and experience with the MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
