Tool Coordinator Location: Long Beach, CA City Light & Power (CLP) is a company at the forefront of the modern-day electric utility industry. CLP is a Subcontractor for a major utility provider in Southern California. We're seeking a Tool Coordinator to join our team in Long Beach. The Tool Coordinator is a highly organized and detail-oriented Professional with a background in managing and coordinating tools and equipment within the Utility Industry. Candidates should be skilled in inventory management, procurement, and tool maintenance, while ensuring safety and regulatory standards are followed; adept at ensuring availability and functionality of tools. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track and maintain inventory of tools and equipment.
- Ensure tools are available when needed and properly stored when not in use.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of inventory.
- Work with Suppliers to secure necessary tools and equipment orders for various projects.
- Ensure that tools are in good working condition.
- Maintain records and schedule maintenance or repair of damaged tools.
- Ensure crews have the proper tools and distribute tools based on project needs.
- Promote safe tool handling and storage practices.
- Ensure that all tools are compliant with safety standards and regulations.
- Keep records of tool usage, maintenance, and replacement schedules.
- Report tool usage and any discrepancies to management.
- Evaluate tools for replacement or upgrading based on wear and tear or changes in technology.
- Monitor and control tool-related expenses, ensuring tools are being used efficiently and economically.
- Help in reducing tool loss or damage.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One-two (1-2) years of experience in the Utility Industry preferred.
- Class A (CDL) driver's license preferred.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate records and reduce tool-related costs.
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
- Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to multitask and self-organize with changing priorities.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday-Friday
Work Authorization/Other Requirements:
- You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Travel around the region is required (Company truck will be provided).
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly payrate: $25.00-$35.00 based on experience.
