What You Will Do

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient and effective Production and Panel Design schedule that aligns with company goals, customer demands, and resource availability. This role involves coordinating with various departments including Panel Design, Production, Account Management, and Warehouse to ensure on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and optimal resource utilization.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

    Develop and manage the master production schedule (MPS) based on customer orders, drop in orders and inventory levels.
  • Ensure production schedules align with capacity constraints, labor availability, and material requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement (Material Coordinator) and key vendors to manage material availability and minimize disruptions.
  • Monitor work orders and Panel Design and Production progress to identify bottlenecks and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including Plant Management and Account Management, to provide updates on production timelines.
  • Analyze demand fluctuations and recommend necessary adjustments to prevent overproduction or shortages/delays.
  • Use Acumatica and Power BI (etc) to generate reports and ensure data accuracy in scheduling processes.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Address scheduling conflicts and provide alternative solutions to maintain productivity.
  • Track and report key performance metrics such as On-Time Delivery, Schedule Attainment Production Efficiency, and Capacity Utilization.

What You Will Bring

The Basic

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in production, production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP software (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and demand planning.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing or warehouse facilities.
  • May require overtime or flexibility in schedule based on production needs.

The Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or industrial production environments.
