Join Our Team as an Assembler at Epiroc!

The production Assembler assembles various components and sub-assemblies on attachments following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the listed duties.

Work Type (Onsite)

This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings:

1stShift:4:00 AM-2:30 PM, Monday-Thursday.

Responsibilities:



  • Transports specified components to the work area either manually or using an overhead crane.
  • Assembles components and sub-assemblies by following blueprints.
  • Aligns and fastens components together with bolts, screws, or other fasteners.
  • Removes small quantities of metal with abrasive sanders to produce a close fit between parts and components.
  • Operates a torque wrench to tighten bolts to the tension specifications.
  • Operates a hose fitting crimping machine as well as a hand skiving for hose assemblies.
  • Operates a magnet drill for boring holes.
  • Inserts shims between parts to realign or level parts and verifies alignment and clearance of parts with micrometers, scales and gauges.
  • Greases or applies other lubricant on specified parts according to specifications.
  • Inspects components at various stages of assembly as well as the final inspection of the completed product.



Knowledge/Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) year of related experience and/or training.
  • Mechanical background required; heavy equipment mechanic background preferred.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.



Skills and Abilities:



  • Basic hydraulic knowledge and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, procedures, etc.
  • Use of manual and hand-powered tools throughout the shift
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Pushing, Pulling, Bending, and Twisting for up to 12 hours
