Join Our Team as a Team Lead at Epiroc!

ThisTeam Leadrole is responsible to provide leadership for the Machine Shop and Coupler team members using technical information and training to achieve the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) standards of the company. The team lead will keep the value streams flowing by keeping product moving and positioning personnel where needed to be successful.

Work Type(Onsite):

This position will be based onsite at our Ooltewah, TN facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings:

6:00 PM-4:30 AM, Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for all training and cross-training within the assigned Value Stream (VS).
  • Fill in for missing team members if required.
  • Establish standard work and work sequence and hold operators accountable.
  • Plan daily production for the team and communicate it visually (i.e. day-by-hour charts); understand and communicate customer tact times.
  • Understand capacity constraints and adjust the workforce to meet customer needs.
  • Anticipate and eliminate problems that may affect the team's ability to perform.
  • Lead a start-of-shift 5-minute meeting to discuss the previous day's safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance and the current day's plan. Ensure the team improvement board is updated and accurate. Interact with the Value Stream Team during morning cadence.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S, cell audits, safety observations, the team improvement board, and all other visual management tools.
  • Responsible for daily/weekly audits including 5S, product quality, system quality, process, ISO 9001, 2nd level work cell, Kanban, etc.
  • Provide input to the Value Stream Manager and Group Lead regarding the performance management of operators.
  • Lead continuous improvement events within the designated team, and perform all other duties, as required.



Knowledge/Education:



  • Minimum of 2 years in supervisory or leadership role preferred

    • Welding and/or machinist experience is strongly preferred


  • An associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred; a High School diploma is acceptable.
  • Attended or in attendance of a formal leadership training program.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated competency using computer programs, MRP/ERP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Displays a proactive and positive approach to leading others in continuous improvement activities.



Skills and Abilities:



  • Leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are essential.
