Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Material Handler-Parts order processor assists in the daily operation of the department with primary emphasis on distribution of material and control of inventory.

Work Type (Onsite)

This position will be based onsite at our Delhi, IA facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings:

1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Identify safety obstacles, suggest corrective actions, and ensure adherence to safety practices for a safe work environment.
• Pull and stage parts based on job pick lists.
• Follow standard work procedures with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ensure accurate parts order processing.
• Assign inventory locations to parts and pack parts orders according to procedures.
• Pick jobs and deliver parts to specified departments.
• Notify appropriate individuals of parts shortages, late orders, or any discrepancies, and report issues to the Materials Manager.
• Complete necessary daily paperwork and computer transactions for inventory movement.
• Perform and maintain 5S duties and standards.
• Extract necessary information from the ERP system.
• Adhere to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics.
• Be flexible to move within departments/plant as needed.
• Obtain forklift certification (optional).
• The ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques is necessary, along with carrying and moving parts, materials, and products.

Knowledge/Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• High level of accuracy in work required.
• Forklift certification and ability to operate other essential motorized equipment.
• Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Solid mathematical abilities.
• Ability to read and write clearly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adhere to procedures and collaborate well with others.
• Frequently requires standing, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands/fingers to handle, touch, assemble parts, and operate tools or controls.
• Requires the ability to perform tasks at a standard rate. Hand and foot coordination is essential for controlling and adjusting equipment or tools. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The role is based in a general plant setting, where safety glasses and safety shoes are required. Mobility within the department/plant as assigned is necessary. Duties may be performed in environments with seasonal temperature extremes, including high heat and/or humidity.
