Join Our Team as a Laser Operator at Epiroc!

This Laser Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of laser cutting machines to produce products meeting customer quality requirements. This individual will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the ability to multitask is essential.

Work Type (Onsite)

This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings:

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM-1:00 AM, Monday-Thursday.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements
• Monitor machine-cutting performance and utilization
• Understand machine setup, including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials
• Understand start-up and shut-down for laser machines
• Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed
• Perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications
• Check the Quality of the product machined and notify the supervisor of process issues
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Knowledge/Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation for problem-solving and analytical purposes.
• Preferred previous experience operating laser machines or similar equipment

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measures, calipers, and hand tools
• Ability to operate and navigate in a Windows-based computer environment
