Join Our Team as a CNC Machinist at Epiroc!

Under the direction of the Fabrication Group Leader and/or Team Leader, the CNC Lathe/Mill Operator's primary function is to program, operate, and maintain all work cell machinery safely and efficiently to achieve the quality and productivity goals of the company.

Work Type (Onsite)

This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings:

2nd Shift:2:30 PM-1:00 AM, Monday-Thursday.

Responsibilities:



  • Proficient in setting up and accurately using standard measurement tools such as outside micrometers, dial calipers, dial bore gauges, dial indicators, and measuring tapes. The candidate will be evaluated on calibration techniques for these instruments.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Machine-Specific Requirements:


  • Lathe:

    • Ability to select the appropriate jaws for job-specific applications.
    • Must identify and select the proper tooling for each job and determine the correct order in which these tools should be used during setup.


  • Mill:

    • Knowledge of industry-standard tooling for milling processes, including clamping devices, tool holders, parallels, and hand tools.
    • Familiarity with machining center operations, including tooling touch-offs, controls, and offsets.


  • Programming Skills:

    • Ability to apply basic G-code programming to achieve proper surface finishes and manage tool wear.
    • Skilled in making minor adjustments to spindle speed and feed rates.





Knowledge/Education:



  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electric systems
  • High skills in the use of all-electric, air-powered, and hand tools with some skills in wire feed welding and plasma
  • Problem-solving analysis with proficiency in communication



Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to interpret blueprints and measuring devices
