As Application Engineer, you provide sale support including feasibility studies, and resolve customer application questions for the Mixing and Extrusion product lines within the Western region. You will report to the Business Unit Sales Manager. This position is based at the Western region headquarters in Torrance, CA.

The base salary range for this position is $73,000-$82,600/year and depends on related experience. Anton Paar USA offers full benefits and a profit sharing contribution to your 401k retirement savings. We offer a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years plus additional bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

    Install new equipment and ensure proper setup.
  • Lead technical training sessions for customers, ensuring clear and effective knowledge transfer.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into practical applications for diverse industries, including plastics, food, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Troubleshoot process issues, optimize formulations, and conduct trials in R&D and production environments.
  • Travel up to 50%, including overnight

Skills and qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with single or twin-screw extrusion, including process optimization, troubleshooting, and material testing.
  • Knowledge of rheology, material characterization, and mechanical properties testing related to extrusion.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers at all levels, from technicians to production managers and R&D teams.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials, including polymers and food products.
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering field (Polymer engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline).
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
