Summary
Responsible for overseeing and managing the respiratory therapy department within the hospital. This role primarily involves supervising a team of respiratory therapists and ensuring the delivery of high-quality respiratory care to patients. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Leads a team of respiratory therapists, providing guidance, mentorship, and supervision- including recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance to ensure optimal patient care. -Oversees the day-to-day operations of the respiratory therapy department- including establishing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures. -Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care plans. -Manages respiratory therapy equipment, supplies and inventory within the department. -Promotes professional development among respiratory therapy staff by organizing and facilitating educational programs, workshops, and training sessions. -Assesses and evaluates the performance of the respiratory therapy department, monitoring key performance indicators. -Works closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with standards and regulations related to respiratory therapy services.
