We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to work on research projects in the Gastrointestinal Unit laboratory of Dr. Andrew T. Chan. Specifically, we are looking for someone to assist in our ongoing translational research efforts within our clinical trials related to the prevention of gastrointestinal cancers and aspirin chemoprevention. Our studies combine genomics, genetics, proteomics, and cell biology to study the underlying biological mechanisms of aspirin chemoprevention and identify biomarkers for utility in precision medicine.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The selected candidate will work independently on experimental research projects directly supervised by the principal investigator and post-doctoral fellows (80%) and will also spend about 20% of his/her effort on laboratory management duties, including purchasing and organizing supplies, supervising equipment maintenance, and preparing stock solutions. Candidates will be expected to think independently and troubleshoot experiments with collaborative guidance from colleagues.
