Job Description

    Handle court-related civil documents, ensuring statutory compliance and agency policy adherence. Reviews documents, resolves discrepancies or rejects inaccurate/incomplete paperwork, and communicates with plaintiffs, defendants, attorneys, and judges.
  • Manages civil process documents within multiple Records Management Systems, ensuring accuracy and statutory deadlines. Coordinates with the Clerk's Office, attorneys, and officers to monitor service status and record accurate return information.
  • Manages high data volumes across multiple systems, performing accurate entry, correcting discrepancies, analyzing trends, and ensuring timely updates to court records.
  • Ability to operate autonomously to resolve document discrepancies, uphold statutory standards, and address complex inquiries or complaints, making timely decisions across Civil, data, and administrative tasks for efficient operations.
  • Provides customer support, answering calls, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries across various channels. Acts as a civil issues liaison, referring customers to external agencies when necessary.
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure operational continuity, adapts to shifting priorities and covering absences. Manages forms, coordinates with the Clerk's Office, and engages external agencies on civil matters.
  • Provides database and policy training, adjusting to staff needs to ensure understanding of procedures, policies, and systems.
  • Manages the acceptance, processing and issuance, of court orders, including Chapter 60 and 61 papers, subpoenas, foreclosures, and protection orders. Duties includes scheduling sales, updating NCIC records, issuing electronic garnishments, and verifying document accuracy on service and returns.
  • Calculates Sheriff's Fees, performs audits and reconciliations, addresses discrepancies, and prepares deposits.
  • Covers for team members, including answering phones and responding to inquiries.
  • Supports a respectful and collaborative team environment, working cooperatively to meet team needs.


Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of customer service or related experience are required. May require KS/MO driver's license, depending on department or agency.

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Working knowledge of public sector administration. Basic knowledge of electronic and office equipment. Two years law enforcement clerical experience. Knowledge of JIMS, REJIS, and KDOR databases.
