Description

Starting Salary Range: $149,000-$171,000 - position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.

The Advisor plays a pivotal role in guiding business leaders and executives by offering expert counsel on developments, emerging trends, and significant events that impact MISO's ability to effectively serve and grow its membership base, shape the vision for the grid of the future, and ensure reliable and efficient operations. This role requires a deep understanding of both internal and external factors that influence the organization's long-term goals and overall direction.

Collaborating with internal business leaders, the Advisor will assess the potential consequences of industry shifts, new trends, and external events on existing plans and initiatives. By staying ahead of market changes and analyzing their potential effects, the advisor helps ensure MISO remains agile and aligned with its objectives.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on industry trends and business activities.
  • Develop and refine a thesis on external drivers affecting MISO's strategy and value to members.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to assess business implications of strategic developments.
  • Analyze policy indications and frame discussions on regulatory, technology, and market dynamics.
  • Create and deliver persuasive reports and presentations to senior executives.
  • Lead internal debates on research findings and strategic direction.


What we are looking for...



  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, business development, risk management, or consulting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex business scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage and integrate complex data from multiple sources.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry and business models of market participants is required.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
