Job Objective:
To serve as an EHS resource for the Company. Manages and coordinates all safety, health, environmental and training matters to ensure and promote a safe and productive environment by identifying and anticipating concerns and hazards, developing, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. Leads health and safety activities at the assigned facilities.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Supports operations at any Alaska Islands Asset Team facilities.
- Identifies and anticipates safety, environmental and health concerns, and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; rendering opinions on equipment and procedures; investigating violations; and recommending preventive programs.
- Guides and promotes safe work performance by developing safety systems, policies, and procedures; developing safety campaigns, communications, and recognitions; and training managers and employees.
- Complies with federal, state, and local safety regulations by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, interpreting standards, enforcing adherence to regulations, and advising management on needed actions.
- Enforces safety policies by conducting inspections, reporting statistics, and advising managers and employees.
- Develops knowledge of the occupational hazards/exposures for specific work locations. Coordinates with management to implement health management activities to include health risk assessments, health education, behavior modification and health improvement activities.
- Coordinates and serves as liaison with federal/state/local safety regulatory agencies.
- Stays current on professional and legislative changes that are associated with safety and occupational health.
- Coordinates and conducts monthly safety training programs at various locations.
- Assists with and participates in the company's emergency response situations and spill management program.
- Develops reviews, maintains, and implements the company's safety policies and procedures manual.
- Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety programs.
- Assists in developing alternatives to decrease workers compensation claims and rates.
- Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.

- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).

- Ability to solve problems accurately and exceptional proficiency in data management.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.

- Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Ten or more (10+) years of experience in safety, health, environmental and training in the oil and gas industry.
- North Slope experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work in Arctic conditions.
- Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Ability to travel to remote locations via large and small planes, helicopter or boat, and ability to don and
- doff immersion suit.
- Strong leader, self-starter, excellent communicator, with have solid interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
- Preferred: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), ChemWatch or other SDS management system, VelocityEHS or other incident management system.

Education Requirements:
- Required:
- High school or GED equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the duties of the position.
- Preferred:
- Associate/Technical Degree or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- CSHO, COSS, CHST, OHST, ASP or CSP required
- Alaska State Fire Fighter 1 or 2 preferred
