Basic Function

The Materials Inventory Administrator for the LyondellBasell Channelview Site is responsible for the day-to-day evaluation, replenishment and accuracy of Materials Inventory stock. This position is accountable for ensuring the warehouse is organized for efficient and logical flow as well as sound business judgment to standardize procedures and exercise best practices to support enterprise growth. The Administrator is also responsible for Materials Inventory operational activities for the location, including ensuring proper resources are available and assisting in organizing personnel to complete work in a timely, cost effective manner. They are also responsible for and maintaining best practices and processes through communication with other site personnel.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • * Responsible for the day-to-day evaluation, replenishment and accuracy of warehouse stock.

    * Accountable for ensuring the warehouse is organized for efficient and logical flow as well as sound business judgment to standardize procedures and exercise best practices to support plant operations and maintenance.

    * The Administrator is also responsible for Materials Management operational activities for the location, including ensuring proper resources are available and assisting in organizing personnel to complete work in a timely, cost effective manner.

    * They are also responsible for maintaining best practices and processes through communication to site personnel.

    * Delegated authority of the Warehouse Supervisor in the event of absence for site specific issues and responses.

    * Must be available for on-call on a rotational basis and be able to respond to callouts- exercise independent judgment and decision making as it relates to proper inventory handling and control.

Min. Qualifications

  • * High school diploma or equivalent with the ability to read, write and speak the English language.

    * Typically, a minimum of 12 years warehouse/inventory expertise or equivalent experience.

    * Demonstrated Leadership ability.

    * Proficient in the use of a company wide computer system to effectively manage the business of the warehouse and support internal customers.

    * Organizational skills to effectively handle planned work order material and process material requests.

    * Advanced knowledge of all Material Management Tech responsibilities including SAP.

    * Thorough knowledge of Inventory Analysis techniques including disposition of materials through Investment Recovery.

    * Thorough knowledge of the Maintenance Operations Workflow Process (MOWP).

    * Familiar with employee time recording system.

    * In depth knowledge of physical inventories, replenishment, vendor interface, and billing/payment.

    * Familiarity with Materials Management industry best practices including Integrated Suppliers, Vendor Stocking, Electronic Commerce, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Stockless Inventory, Bar-coding and Supply Chain Management.

    * Process and manage materials through Master Data Governance (MDG).

    * Thorough knowledge of Zone Stores process.

    * Understanding of business processes and procedures, Materials Management and Purchasing processes and work flow to actively seek continuous improvement.

    * Strong interpersonal skills and leadership attributes are key to the ability to manage the day-to-day activity and implement long range goals.

    * Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively coordinate material support for Operations & Maintenance activities.
