Description

The Finance Director performs and reviews complex financial analysis that often has significant implications on the financial direction and the success of the business. This position serves as the FP&A finance lead and includes coordination of budgets, forecasts, monthly close processes, reporting and analysis. This position will be a close a strategic partner to Corporate and Market senior leadership requiring strong collaboration. This position is also responsible for coaching and prioritizing the work of the team members, influencing others in corporate finance, segment finance, IT and vendors and serves as an information source for other analysts in the department and other customers at Medica.

Key Accountabilities Include:



  • Manages annual budget and forecasting processes, i.e. timelines and responsibilities.
  • Creates, coordinates, and consolidates financial projections.
  • Provides analysis, identifies variances and associated drivers, and potential risks and opportunities to financial results.
  • Produces multiple year financial projections for the long-range plan and other purposes, as needed.
  • Provides monthly close reporting with variance commentary
  • Produces ad-hoc financial analysis, as needed.
  • Coordinates presentation materials for leadership reviews.
  • Provides reporting at various levels i.e., consolidated, segment, product, market and department levels.
  • Produces supplemental financial reporting for the Board of Directors.
  • Produces ad-hoc financial reporting, as needed.
  • Directs the Production of monthly membership reports.
  • Tracks membership projections for use in financial models.
  • Updates system data and ensures integrity of information used in financial dashboards


To be successful, this individual will partner closely with Corporate and Market senior leadership and other enterprise teams as needed to effectively manage, grow, and enhance profitability for existing business or expand our existing offerings/geographical reach. Some of the key bodies of work will include: long-range planning, process management, risk management strategies and execution while managing multiple projects in fast paced environment.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or related area
  • 8+ years of relevant combined experience in finance, accounting and/or related area
  • 5+ years direct management experience
  • Direct experience and deep knowledge of Financial Planning & Analysis and Process Management
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and the development of complex financial models within business environments / industries that consist of a fair amount of uncertainty and rapid change
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop finance professionals

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, to all levels within the organization
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data
  • Strong project management skills
  • Effective handling multiple complex projects with a high degree of engagement
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to lead and drive change


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work from the designated office, Minnetonka MN, on average, 2+ times per week.

The full salary range for this position is $127,800 - $219,000. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
