The Director, Production and Programming will manage the PGA of America video production staff, projects, videos and productions around championships, membership events & projects, broadcast partner relationships, PGA of America video library, archive libraries, photography, digitization efforts, footage licensing, finances, international partnerships & relationships, world feed production, international revenue and reporting, and overall department organization.

The Director, Production and Programming will plan and direct the strategy, development, and execution of a comprehensive PGA of America Studios Operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

Video Production and Programming

Oversee the planning and execution of championship site visits with domestic and international broadcast partners, manage video production and broadcasting for key events, and handle on-site production requests. Oversee internal and external communications related to broadcasting and produce essential promotional content.

Lead planning meetings with all global media broadcast partners, manage broadcasting obligations, and handle international partnerships. Oversee world feed and International Highlight Show production, and manage the media hub. Facilitate production of PGA events, TV, and Highlight Shows, including content development and editing. Manage ENG crews, footage distribution, and coordination with golf course personnel.

Manage the SiriusXM relationship and contract, including the weekly radio show and interview slots for PGA initiatives. Oversee SiriusXM Town Hall Events and onsite broadcast needs. Oversee AV and video production for the PGA Show, Forum Stage, etc.

Oversee the production of video projects for various PGA departments and initiatives. Manage the PGA Video Library and transition to the PGA Media Archive Management System, handling requests for media assets. Collaborate with departments to support and expand PGA initiatives via broadcast partners and on-site events.

PGA of America Studio Operations

Lead and optimize the brick-and-mortar studio environment that maximizes the 660-acre PGA Frisco campus for production. Enhance efficiencies in off-site championship event operations with a home production team. Manage and mentor the PGA production staff within the PGA commercial group.

Oversee the PGA Public Service Announcement calendar and commercials, ensuring proper scheduling and reporting for live broadcasts and events. Collaborate with producers to develop production concepts and narratives. Manage pre-production elements, including video and graphics, and adjust studio arrangements as needed. Lead live productions, coordinating crews and talent, and overseeing production values like lighting and special effects.

Maintain clear and organized communication during each production. Ensure production rundowns align with approved concepts and narratives, focusing on video, audio, and graphics. Collaborate with lead directors to develop special graphics and animations for projects and shows.

Organize recommendations for the Senior Director, Global Media, Production and Wagering providing research and analysis for informed decision-making. Assist in managing and expanding the Senior Director's relationships with partners, increasing external awareness of the PGA's mission

SUPERVISION:

This is a supervisory position responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees within the department.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for the preparation and oversight of the Department budget and for monitoring results.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Broadcast, Journalism, Communications, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Seven years' experience in production, marketing, and/or event management. Experienced as a broadcaster or gained through work at a sports property broadcast division or production company preferred. Photography experience preferred.

Four years team management experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Must have knowledge of video production, including shooting raw footage, script writing, graphics, music, and special effects. Knowledge of editing and production technology preferred. Knowledge of golf and PGA Professional preferred. A demonstrated understanding of Google Workspace office products.

Ability to travel up to 40%, including overnight travel. Ability to stand for extended periods of time during events.
