The Manager position oversees a team of professionals in the project development and project execution of zero emission bus infrastructure projects in support of the New Flyer Infrastructure Solutions Department. The team's responsibilities include responses to bids and RFPs, developing project plans, managing business relationships with clients, managing budgets and financial controls, managing project schedules, coordinating projects with regulatory agencies, managing consultants in the preparation of construction documents, managing contractors, and other duties as assigned. This position manages the business activities in a particular geographic area in North America.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

1. Team management in the execution of infrastructure business related to Zero Emission Buses to complement the New Flyer Group (NFI, MCI, ARBOC, Alexander Dennis) core businesses. Tasks include:

* Managing by objective to meet departmental goals

* Participating in the departments strategic planning process

* Creating a highly functional and successful working environment

* Striving for excellence in all areas of responsibility

2. Manage technical sales staff in the development of project backlog for the team. This includes, and is not limited to:

* Identification of business opportunities supporting department goals

* Reviewing and responding to requests for proposals, invitations for bids, requests for information

* Development and management of commercial contracts with adequate risk management provisions

* Generation of "best value" engineering concepts to ensure New Flyer's competitive advantage

* Development of accurate cost estimates, resource requirements, budgets and project schedules

* Creation of professional proposal documents with commitments authorized by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT)

3. Manage and mentor infrastructure project personnel in the execution of projects with activities including and not limited to:

* Equipment Procurement

* Utility Coordination

* Engineering - Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and others as needed.

* Project Permitting

* Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Construction

* Equipment Integration

* Project Commissioning

* Documentation Retention and Project Close-Out

4. Ensure all equipment, engineering, and construction activities comply with all applicable international, federal, state and local standards and codes, as well as FTA procurement and best practices in relation to project contracts and documentation.

5. Promote, support, and educate to a zero-tolerance safety program.

6. Responsible for input into department budget (Dept. 708) and related expenditures.

7. Establish and execute revenue and profitability objectives. Manage to an approved annual operating plan (AOP). Full Profit & Loss responsibility for team's infrastructure projects.

8. Support in the reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for overall department and team activities.

9. Develop and support department procedures and standards leading to world class project development and management.

10. Other management duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

* BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or Equivalent Work Experience

* 8 years of cumulative experience in engineering or construction project management

* 4 years of experience managing large teams of engineers, contractors, and suppliers on major infrastructure projects

* Knowledgeable of electrical power and design principles.

* Ability to read and comprehend engineering and construction documents

* Familiarity with electrical code and industry best practices

* Experience in project financial controls and contract terms and conditions.

* Preferred: Experience in the engineering and/or construction of transit facilities, as well as electric and/or hydrogen fueling systems
