The Manager, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is responsible for overseeing all distribution activities and inventory management processes that support New Era Cap's FTZ operations. This role ensures compliance with FTZ regulations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements while maintaining the accuracy of inventory transactions within New Era's ERP system. The position serves as a key liaison between New Era's third-party logistics (3PL) partners, internal supply chain teams, and regulatory bodies to uphold operational integrity and compliance standards. This role is based at New Era Cap's distribution center in Carlisle, PA, with a planned transition to New Era's new Flagship Distribution Center in Bernville, PA by October 2025, which will be operated by a 3PL partner.

Our team oversees four functional groups within New Era: Logistics, Distribution, Integrated Logistics, and Trade Compliance. We are responsible for managing all product movement from the time it leaves the factory until the time it is delivered to the end customer

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with New Era's Distribution Management, Trade Compliance teams, and 3PL partners to ensure full Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance
  • Oversee distribution center operations, ensuring physical product receipts, shipping, and inventory movements are executed accurately and in accordance with FTZ protocols
  • Conduct daily audits of system transactions across 3PL warehouse management systems, New Era's ERP system, and FTZ inventory records to maintain data integrity and operational efficiency
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve processing delays, system errors, and inventory discrepancies, escalating critical issues to the New Era Supply Chain team as necessary
  • Partner with 3PL site management to ensure strict adherence to building security protocols and personnel management procedures
  • Act as the company subject matter expert regarding FTZ operations and leverage zone for benefit of New Era Cap
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory updates affecting Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs) to ensure ongoing compliance and operational alignment
  • Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive business and operational matters
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support supply chain and distribution objectives
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in process execution and reporting
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective cross-functional relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks and swiftly address operational issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple departments
  • Confidence in working with and holding 3PL management accountable for procedural adherence and issue resolution

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a supply chain role required, preferably in a distribution environment
  • Prior experience in FTZ operations and customs compliance strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Working experience with FTZ software preferred

Travel Requirement

  • 15% travel primarily between distribution center in Carlisle, PA, Bernville, PA, and New Era Headquarters in Buffalo, NY

The salary range for this posted position is $70,000 - $95,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
