Summary:
The Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry's Clinical Affairs department is seeking an Assistant Lab Manager to assist with running and maintaining daily operations of our pre-clinic lab along with several other labs within the school. Working with the Lab Manager, primary responsibilities will include daily set up of the pre-clinic, monitoring dental students who are using the lab, maintaining the lab throughout the day, and daily clean up, including disinfecting and wiping down dental chairs, lab stations, countertops, equipment, etc., and closing the lab at the end of the day. In addition, the Assistant Lab Manager will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing governmental, university, and school regulations pertaining to safe practices within the labs; maintaining other labs and/or clinical areas within the school; assisting with inventory control and ordering, troubleshooting and handling basic repairs on dental equipment; verify operation of IT equipment; and troubleshoot and place repair request when needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 months of related lab management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Must have familiarity with dental terminology, instruments, equipment, and procedures.
*Must be able to work with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and other external contacts.
*Must have great attention to detail and sound judgments with the ability to make independent decisions.
*Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational and interpersonal skills.
*Excellent customer service skills with the demonstrated ability to calmly handle various complaints, problems, and questions.
*Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and make independent decisions for non-complex issues.

Preferred:
*Previous experience within a dental, medical or higher education environment.
*Previous experience working with students and/or residents within a healthcare setting.
