A Brief Overview

Under the guidance of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Leadership, the Program Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager with program expansion, day-to-day operations, financial reporting and metrics, program development, management of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Hemostasis and Thrombosis Treatment Center and Clinical Trials Unit, and execution of Pediatric Hematology Oncology goals in alignment with the UH mission. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, planning capabilities, visionary thinking, skills in developing collaborative partnerships, and exceptional communication and organizational skills.

What You Will Do



  • Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinical Trials Unit (PHO CTU) of the Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, focused on the conduct of federally funded, investigator initiated, and industry sponsored research trials. Pediatric Hematology Oncology Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center (HTC), focused on the operations and the care of children with congenital thrombotic disorders, bleeding disorders such as von Willebrand disease and hemophilia, and other rare conditions that increase risk for bleeding or thrombosis
  • Supervises and provides oversight of the PHO CTU research program staff and HTC staff and coordinates/assigns activities of PHO CTU/HTC staff under supervision.
  • Coordinates the operations for various disease teams within the division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology including, but not limited to, the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinical Trials Unit and the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center
  • Coordinates development, preparation, review and approval of research protocols, case report forms and regulatory documents for the conduct of research required by IRB, sponsor and FDA in conjunction with the regulatory specialist and clinical research specialists.
  • Develop and monitor standardized processes for the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinical Trials Unit and the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center
  • Perform daily oversight of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinical Trials Unit and the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center staff
  • Monitor monthly financial performance, investigate significant variances, and explain rationale for variances to the Manager of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinical Trials Unit and the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center
  • Coordinate standardized marketing materials (e.g. physician bio cards, business cards, etc.) to support practice operations and relationships with referring providers/practices
  • Deliver and coordinate education to internal and external customers
  • Oversee and coordinate the operations of bleeding disorder specialty clinics
  • Works with contracts department to negotiate the language and budgets of research trials, clinical research related contracts, grants, and related grant agreements.
  • Trains personnel on the requirements and expectations of both department and UHCMC as a whole for clinical research and HTC operations

  • Conduct clinical research visits, if staffing needs require
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
