Job Description |
The purpose of this position is to provide distribution support services for the College. This is accomplished by purchasing all warehouse items, delivering mail to authorized
USPS and other facilities; distributing mail to buildings on and off campus; receiving and shipping packages; providing correct postage for mail; reconciling received products with purchase orders; ordering and maintaining warehouse supplies; operating a fork lift; preparing postings of accounts; assigning fixed asset tags; completing financial and accounting reports; and maintaining/rotating inventory. Other duties include organizing the storage warehouse; palletize, inventory, and load out surplus equipment for sale; coordinating pickups and deliveries; maintaining health machines on campus; and monitoring warehouse orders in enterprise resource planning (
ERP) system.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Experience |
A minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution services or related field such as mail, warehouse or delivery/courier professions |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
- Ability to review, prepare and process purchase requisitions for accuracy and best pricing.
- Establish and maintain contact with vendors
- Respond to phone calls and emails; provide assistance for billing inquiries and end-of-month
- Manage surplus inventory and process items
- Ability to maintain inventory data, assign pricing, and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to verify receipts, authorize payments, and track assets
- Ability to receive, scan, label, and distribute shipments
- Ability to create and maintain warehouse item numbers and monitor order status in ERP system.
- Ability to load & unload deliveries from tractor trailers
- Ability to perform mail and courier services on and off campus
- Ability to organize and sort mail for distribution and outgoing mail
- Ability to Maintain updated forms & policy procedures from USPS.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Forklift Certified or able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications |
- Procurement experience
- Experience using Intelli TrackAsset, Tek Track or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Experience using USPS Enterprise Payment System (EPS)
