Under the supervision of the Business Office Supervisor, responsible for purchasing, receiving, and working with contracting/business agreements, travel arrangements, and reconciliation and entertainment processing. Provide business and administrative support to faculty, staff, and students within Cluster Five; consisting of three cluster departments. Responsible for initiating business agreements, accounts payable, interdepartmental billing, cash collections, international and domestic travel and entertainment arrangements and reconciliations, and business and administrative support for ongoing operations.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Experience using automated financial systems to perform general accounting transactions, entertainment, travel, honorarium, check request processing, and other business transactions. Experience with various computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Google, etc.) for word processing, email, internet, calendaring/scheduling software, and newsgroups.
- Knowledge of financial, and accounting policies and procedures.
- Analytical and mathematical skills to identify/research/resolve, analyze and prepare travel and entertainment reports.
- Grammar, editing and proofreading skills to compose and prepare business correspondence, forms, and reports with attention to detail.
- Interpersonal communication and customer service skills to interact and communicate with a diverse group of individuals including faculty, staff, students, professional researchers, and campus visitors.
- Organizational skills to prioritize workload, work on assignments simultaneously, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using UCD financial systems including UCD Pre-purchasing, Aggie Expense, Aggie Enterprise, online submission forms, researching Knowledge Based Articles, key management experience, and working in an academic environment.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures pertaining to all UC Business transactions.

Department Overview
This position is one of four Business and Financial Assistants working as a team to support business operations within Cluster Five, a large and complex administrative organization within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The Cluster provides administrative support to three departments including the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics: the Department of Environmental Science and Policy and the Department of Human Ecology (consisting of Human Development and Family Studies, Community and Regional Development, and Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design programs), and several independent graduate groups.
This position serves graduate students and advising staff for Cluster Five; Departments of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Environmental Science and Policy, and Human Ecology. We are currently having other staff members cover the vacancy; however, this is taking a toll on staff as this is needed as a full FTE.

Work Environment
