Job Summary

The Digital Press Operator will ensure internal and external customer expectations of turn-around and quality are met in a fast-paced digital print environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience in the printing industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in operating large and grand format printing machinery.
  • Knowledge of operating HP and Vutek printers.
  • Knowledge in dye sublimation a plus.
  • Knowledge in Zund cutters a plus but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Caldera RIP software is plus.
  • Proficient computer skills MAC and PC.
  • Knowledge in Adobe Illustrator plus.
  • Ability to work with various tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and quality.
  • Ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high focus on delivering quality prints is essential.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Fluency in English communication skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented.
  • Must have good judgment of color, design, and print quality.
  • Ability to accept and adapt to change, work under pressure.
  • Able to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent in experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large and grand format printing machines.
  • Quality Control - # of rejected pieces.
  • Efficiency - # of pieces completed per hour.
  • Prepare print machinery, inks, rollers, and materials.
  • Adjusts machinery to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies needed to operate printing.
  • Troubleshoot issues during the printing process.
  • Perform routine maintenance of printing machines.
  • Inform supervisor about equipment or material issues.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ripping files for digital print on large / grand format printers.
  • Accurately enters time and job information into the Shop-Trak Collection System.
  • Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime on short notice. Input labor hours into Shop-Trak time keeping system.
  • 8 hours a day.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
