Summary

The Principal Digital Transformation Architect identifies, evaluates, and develops new utility-scale growth opportunities for NYPA. They collaborate with multiple functions within the organization, such as transmission planning, legal, finance, engineering, EH&S, and real estate. Additionally, they identify and negotiate strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities with both internal and external stakeholders. Project origination includes identifying opportunities and technical solutions, developing project applications, and maintaining regulatory compliance. They track investments across new project development initiatives and provide regulatory compliance oversight as projects are executed.

The Principal Digital Transformation Architect leads and implements foundational changes in delivering value to internal and external customers. They champion the application of digital capabilities to processes, products, and assets to improve efficiency, enhance customer value, manage risk, and uncover new monetization opportunities. They adapt digitalization strategies to evolving business requirements driven by customer demand and technology. This role enables the transformation of business activities, processes, competencies, and models to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of digital technologies, considering their accelerating impact across NYPA, Canals, our customers, and the State of New York in a strategic and prioritized manner, with present and future shifts in mind.

The Principal Digital Transformation Architect brings commanding experience in the areas of Digital Strategy, Technology Scanning and Scouting, and Innovation. They have proven experience with the implementation and application of artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, automation, and digital workplace strategies and solutions. #LI-VB1

Responsibilities
  • Translate product roadmaps and business requirements into ideas, use cases, initiatives, and projects with defined resources, activities and timelines required to develop and deliver solutions.
  • Drive innovative idea intake through existing and new channels such as Eureka!
  • Manage the execution, planning, and optimization of digital projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the analysis of digital performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Lead workshops and meetings to identify and address digital transformation needs and to inform talent strategy on recruitment, development, and retention of tech/innovation talent.
  • Strategically collaborate with IT and business teams to design and implement advanced digital solutions.
  • Oversee the documentation of complex digital processes and user requirements.
  • Drive key initiatives including AI, Digital Worker, Intelligent Automation, and Next Gen ERP. This includes leading and supporting ideation & incubation of new products, technologies, processes, and skillsets
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and platforms to enhance business capabilities.
  • Develop, implement and oversee value maximization strategies for new and existing technologies, optimizing key tools and processes.
  • Lead NYPA and Canals key enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, including but not limited to Digital Worker, Artificial Intelligence, Enablon, and Intelligent Automation. Driving results by partnering with various NYPA and Canals sites, vendors, internal shared services, business units, and partners across the State of New York.

Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Program Manager or leading technology projects.cha
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or lean / six sigma certification preferred.
  • Experience leading intelligent automation initiatives and building solutions with tools like UIPath.
Physical Requirements

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $138,580.00 - $190,550.00. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
