We are seeking a Business Analyst, Clinical Contracts who will coordinate and participate in activities related to managing the School of Medicine (SOM) contracts as part of the Faculty Practice Finance (FPF) vertical in the SOM Central Finance office. SOM Central Finance is the financial management unit in the School of Medicine responsible for oversight of SOM wide financial performance and partnering with departments to move forward strategic financial initiatives. The Business Analyst will manage and execute physician and provider related employment (clinical associate contracts), clinical service contracts with non-Hopkins affiliated organizations, JHM employee lease agreements, and JHM InterEntity agreements. This role involves managing records, databases, and contract templates, as well as preparing various financial analyses as needed. The position requires extensive collaboration and coordination with JHU and JHM senior leadership.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the review process and final execution of all Clinical Associate, Clinical Services contracts, and Inter-Entity Agreements.
  • Manage the review and final execution of all JHM employee lease contracts between the School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins hospitals.
  • Prepare fair market value analysis for compensation and pay rates using external benchmark data from organizations such as, i.e. PYA and Association of American Medical Colleges.
  • Summarize each contract request to be presented to the SOM Intake Committee for financial approval.
  • Contact signatories to obtain signature / approvals for new and amended contracts.
  • Reconcile databases and accounts to ensure activity against active contracts.
  • Participate in compliance activities, as needed, related to InterEntity contracts and personnel leases.
  • Collaborate with SOM Departments to triage queries regarding contracts in accordance with JHU policies and procedures.
  • Develop an inventory and maintain records of all contracts including expiring contracts.
  • Design and maintain website that houses physician and provider internal employment and external service contracts. Enter employment and service contracts into website and update with applicable revisions.
  • Collaborate with JHU Legal Department, Clinical Departments, SOM Central Finance, and Associate Director to resolve issues related to contracts.
  • Participate in meetings and serve as staff to committee in support of the Faculty Practice, including regular meeting with JHU Legal and SOM Central Finance meetings to address and resolve concerns related to contracts, both internal and external.
  • Prepare various types of financial analyses and associated observations as requested by the Associate Director, Faculty Practice Finance.
  • Use various software applications to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
  • Cross trains with Financial Analyst in Faculty Practice Finance to manage faculty compensation: review business plans, approve employee actions, and perform internal and external equity analysis.
  • Keep abreast of laws and regulations that impact up to date compliance.

Collaborates

  • Partner with Executive Director and Associate Directors of Faculty Practice Finance; other Faculty Practice Financial analysts; FP&A colleagues; Financial Operations Colleagues; University Controller; JHHS/JHM colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in contract administrative support.
  • Familiarity with academic medical centers.
  • Experience in physician practice management.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
