Description
The Climate Policy Intern will assist with climate mitigation and adaptation projects including tasks associated with policy review and analysis. They support projects covering a wide range of topics, such as urban greening and nature-based solutions, resilient water and energy systems, land use policy and planning, and resilience hubs and social programs. The Climate Policy Intern will conduct literature review and synthesis, data analysis and visualization, document preparation and file management, writing policy memos and reports, financial modeling and assessment, and interviews with government officials and other partners. This position reports to the Senior Director, Advisory Services. The internship will be 20-40 hrs/week and last, at a minimum, three months with the option to extend the position on a semester-by-semester basis. The anticipated start date is May 15, 2025, but we will work with the selected candidate to accommodate an earlier or later start date. Key Responsibilities:

Position Location Requirements: Although our preference is to hire in the following metro areas: Ann Arbor, MI or Chicago, IL, we will consider strong candidates that are remote. If near an office, the candidate is expected to work in an office setting a couple of days a week and attend in-person meetings as required. Salary: CIS offers paid internships. They may be structured as hourly wages or term stipends, depending on the level of education and experience. The estimated hourly wage for this position is $18-20/hr.
