Position Announcement

Provides clerical/secretarial support services to the Department of Nursing Department Chair, faculty, staff, and students within the College of Health Sciences, with emphasis in facilitating accurate, timely and efficient processing of Nursing program applications and informing applicants of their status and other inquiries. Provide administrative support to the department, including but not limited to screening/routing of telephone calls and visitors, as well as managing department mail. Responsibilities

  • Monitor, accept, and coordinate student applications to Nursing programs and tracks. Notify students of acceptance, denial, or status as an alternate. Ensure department website and applications are up-to-date.
  • Coordinate data entry of student information into database, including required field/tracking updates, student background checks, immunizations, CPR certifications, drug screen statuses, updating student demographics each semester, etc.
  • Work with students on various data requests, such as copies of their archived information, completion of all Intermountain Student Passport information, making Program ID badges, etc. Attend annual University Cash Handling training to facilitate copies, compile deposits, complete deposit records for Utah Tech University (UT) Cashier's Office, maintain records, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to the CNA program including faculty and student screenings, scheduling and the completion ceremony.
  • Provide administrative support to the department, including but not limited to screening/routing of telephone calls and visitors, as well as managing department mail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of college coursework required.
  • Minimum of two years' office/administrative support staff experience required; experience working in higher education or with nursing program students preferred.
  • Must be well-organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of working with multiple programs, as well as being attentive to detail.
  • Ability to interact with staff and students at all levels while in a fast-paced environment, remaining proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skill in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, and email.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures as well as English grammar, punctuation, and correspondence forms.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time non-exempt staff (overtime-eligible) position. Annual salary of $35,200, with a desired start date of May/June 2025.
