Communications Engineer

What You Will Do:

As an OT Communications Engineer, you will play an essential role within our Information Technology, reporting to Sr. Manager IT Infrastructure and Applications. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Analyze communication systems and provide progressive solutions to meet ENSTAR's on network communication needs.
* Install, maintain, and operate both microwave and mobile based (VHF) radio equipment.
* Lead and coordinate small and large projects, including evaluation, design, estimates, and delivery.
* Support Operational and Information technology (OT/IT) needs.
* Design and deploy APN devices.
* Maintain ENSTAR's FCC licensing and compliance with applicable regulations.
* Work closely with the Cybersecurity team to increase security on the IT/OT networks.
* Perform related duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
Required Qualifications
* Four-year degree in Engineering or related field required.
* Minimum of four years' progressively responsible work experience.
* Proficiency with Microwave communication network systems.
* Proficiency in RF Point-Multi point systems.
* Proficiency in Land Mobile Radio systems (LMR).
* Knowledge of firewalls, VPN's, TCP/IP networking, ethernet and serial networking.
* Must possess a valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
* Ability to pass a background, past employment, credit, drug, and driving record screening.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
* Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills with the ability to evaluate data. Demonstrated knowledge of Microwave communication systems.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to effectively work with contractors, consultants, governmental agencies, and other departments/personnel to accomplish ENSTAR's objectives.
* Ability to manage and support multiple projects.
* Good attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to make independent decisions based on available information.
* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and is open to take on a variety of operational challenges.
