Position Summary


The Trade/Intellectual Property/White Collar Litigation Legal Assistant provides support to the firm's clients and case teams. The Legal Assistant will assist litigation teams in a fast-paced environment with filings, document production, hearings, and case organization, and general case management aspects of large, document-intensive client files throughout the lifecycle of the matter. This position works independently on medium-to-large sized/complex matters, and works closely with junior and senior members of the case team according to established policies and procedures. This position will also be responsible for overseeing, coordinating and tracking project progress and workflow through the matters' lifecycle.
Also necessary are strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines, effectively manage multiple responsibilities and keep accurate time records.

Duties and Accountabilities



  • Oversee multiple Trade/IP/White Collar litigation projects and ensure quality and success through actions.
  • Maintain and create file structure for all filings into iManage.
  • Consult with case teams regarding best practices for document management, electronic discovery, and matter workflow.
  • Report to case teams and management on project status, including preparation of task lists and timelines.
  • Review case emails and new filing emails and cull case status and dates to docket, circulate new filings to team.
  • Track and analyze incoming client data and case correspondence.
  • Oversee and coordinate vendor work particularly regarding document review and production.
  • Identify and distribute relevant documents to experts and co-counsel.
  • Proofread and cite-check brief, reports, statements, indices and exhibits.
  • Manage exhibit preparation.
  • Schedule, arrange, and maintain deposition calendar.
  • Maintain client databases.
  • Perform research as directed by attorneys.
  • Coordinate all aspects of readiness for trial including witness binders, courtroom set-up, support trial teams in and out of courtroom, manage vendors, and attend Trials.
  • Prepare hearing binders.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, correspondence, proposed orders, motions, engagement letters under supervision of attorney.
  • Document Production Management. Coordinate productions, including downloads of all productions.
  • Expert Management; pull documents for experts for review; log lists of materials reviewed by experts as sent by team; pull documents cited in expert reports.
  • Handle all logistics in office and at trial site for client, co-counsel, witnesses, and legal team.
  • Prepare daily time entries for services performed and meet billable hours set by firm.


Qualifications



  • College degree from 4-year college or university required - GPA 3.5
  • Possess superb written and verbal communication skills to enable effective and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and vendors
  • Able to manage time and resources
  • Able to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exercises discretion and independent, sound, and mature judgment with high-ethical standards.
