POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
The Janitor will work under the direction of the assigned Project Manager and provide custodial services as directed. There is a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of all assigned buildings located at the Brush Field Office, 17523 Hwy 71, Brush, Colorado, 80723 twice a week. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Twice Weekly Services for Southwest Control Building:
- Trash Disposal: Collect trash from all designated areas. Place trash in plastic bags and remove it to the Government-furnished container. Ensure all trash cans have liners.
- Floors: Non-carpeted floors and concrete (if any) shall be cleaned, including exposed floor areas under furniture and equipment. Caution shall be taken to avoid damage to furniture and equipment. Carpeted floors and mats shall be vacuumed, including exposed areas under furniture and equipment. Caution shall be taken to avoid damage to furniture and equipment.
- Dusting: Shall be accomplished on all horizontal and vertical services, ledges and operational equipment by utilizing appropriate surface products.
- Remove fingerprints from light switches and all windows.
- Clean drinking fountain.
- Dispensers: Fill dispensers, including soap, towels, toilet tissue, and seat covers, check to ensure they are operational and clean.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Remove cobwebs from all areas.
Monthly Services for Southwest Control Building:
- Dust window areas and blinds; Clean all ceiling light fixture;
- Quarterly Services for the Southwest Control Building
- Dust (above five feet) all horizontal surfaces including shelves, moldings, picture frames, ledges, pipes, ducts, heating outlets, light fixture diffusers.
- Semi-Annual services for the Southwest Control Building:
- Window Cleaning: Cleaning shall be coordinated with the POC. Clean inside and outside the windows.
- Twice Weekly Services for the Northwest Control Building
- Sanitize tabletops in lunchroom.

- Non-carpeted floors and concrete (if any) shall be cleaned, including exposed floor areas under furniture and equipment. Caution shall be taken to avoid damage to furniture and equipment.
- Carpeted floors and mats shall be vacuumed, including exposed areas under furniture and equipment. Caution shall be taken to avoid damage to furniture and equipment.
- Dusting
- Shall be accomplished on all horizontal and vertical services, ledges and operational equipment.

- Clean Drinking fountain and kitchenette sink.
- Dispensers: Fill dispensers, including soap, towels, toilet tissue, and seat covers, check to ensure they are operational and clean.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Remove cobwebs from all areas.
- Unplug paper shredder and remove/dispose shredded paper.
- Monthly Services for the Northwest Control Building
- Dust window areas and blinds.
- Clean all ceiling light fixtures.
Rugs and Mats:
- Shall provide rugs and mats. Exchange rugs and mats with clean, one time per month. The rugs and mats range in size from 2' X 3' to 3' X 10'.
- Quarterly Services for the Northwest Control Building
- Dust (above five feet) all horizontal surfaces including shelves, moldings, picture frames, ledges, pipes, ducts, heating outlets. (excluding warehouse).
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and hazardous components.
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- Very good physical condition and strength.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- High school diploma is preferred but not required.
- Pursuant to Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
