Position Summary

McHenry County College seeks a full-time, tenure-track faulty instructor for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and act as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. In addition to classroom/laboratory instruction, the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (FWC) develops, coordinates, and monitors programming related to student field work experiences.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Including but are not limited to:
- Teach assigned courses per semester; daytime and/or evening as needed
- Assessment of student learning
- Enhance and diversify fieldwork sites
- Develop curriculum to enhance programming of Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Maintenance of full accreditation status through ACOTE
- General involvement as a faculty member in participatory College governance, advisement and recruitment of students, and college committees
- Be informed of activities at the State level and keep apprised of external agency regulations and changes to regulations that directly impact the program
- Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence
- Work with colleagues/partners to facilitate articulation of appropriate courses within those institutions
- Continue professional development in area of expertise and in teaching/learning strategies
- Assist in educating the public about the program through college sponsored activities
- Support and participate in continuous quality improvement

Required Qualifications
-
- Current licensure in Illinois and certified as an Occupational Therapist or an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience
- Minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded through an accredited institution by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth
- Willingness to use educational technology
- Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles
