The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) is seeking a motivated Experiential Learning Manager (ELM) to develop and expand a network of professional learning experiences that will support students' development toward post-baccalaureate careers. The ELM will focus on providing robust career-preparatory opportunities across a variety of industries and settings. In addition, the ELM will work internally to design and implement workshops, seminars, training sessions, and other initiatives to support both students and faculty in career-focused development. This position reports to the Executive Director of Career Services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Required Qualifications and Experience: ● Bachelor’s degree. ● At least two (2) years of experience developing student-centered professional development. Experience in higher education is preferred. ● Strong knowledge of experiential learning experiences and relationships to student growth and development. Experience within arts and design industries preferred. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students and external partners. ● Strong organizational and time management skills. ● Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and disciplines. ● Knowledge of and commitment to best practices in student support and success. ● Ability to utilize a personal computer and familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and database software), Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides). ● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: · Strong communication skills to maintain and develop relationships with internal and external partners that support student development needs. · Proficiency in designing and implementing student learning experiences. · Ability to adapt to the evolving needs of students and industries, particularly within the creative arts and visual design fields. · Regular on-site presence is required.
