Overview

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking a Senior Biologist to work onsite in Manassas, VA. Extensive experience in cell culture is required.

We're looking for a Senior Biologist to manufacture or test biological materials and standards. You'll work independently to support the production of biological cultures and derivative products, as well as collect and record data. You will provide training and guidance to the team as appropriate.

For this role, assay development, process optimization, and medium scale manufacturing experience is highly desired, as well as documentation and tech transfer development.

Responsibilities

    Manufacturing Operations: Manufacturing and testing of biological products by following standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other controlled documents. Maintain laboratory safety, operations, equipment, and supplies. Troubleshooting of cell lines for manufacturing.
  • Documentation: Maintain production batch records in compliance with good laboratory practices. Revise and develop SOPs and work instructions. Collect, analyze, and report data, ensuring meticulous documentation.
  • Tech Transfer and Validation: Work towards subject matter expertise of various cell lines and organisms, and handle challenges in alignment with organizational policies. Support transfer and validation of new processes and equipment.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in cell culture is required.
  • Experience in assay development, process optimization, and medium scale manufacturing experience is highly desired.
  • Attention to detail and prior experience developing work instructions or SOP's is ideal.
  • Ability to adhere to corporate policies and procedures


Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
